Joyland by Stephen King Review

Summary:

College student Devin Jones took the summer job at Joyland hoping to forget the girl who broke his heart. But he wound up facing something far more terrible: the legacy of a vicious murder, the fate of a dying child, and dark truths about life—and what comes after—that would change his world forever.

A riveting story about love and loss, about growing up and growing old—and about those who don't get to do either because death comes for them before their time—Joyland is Stephen King at the peak of his storytelling powers. With all of the emotional impact of King masterpieces such as The Green Mile and The Shawshank RedemptionJoyland is at once a mystery, a horror story, and a bittersweet coming-of-age novel, one that will leave even the most hard-boiled reader profoundly moved.

Rating: ★★★★☆

Review:

OMG! I have just finished reading Joyland and I honestly feel like crying. My emotions are all over the place, I love this book so much. I did not want it to end, I was so attached to Devin, to Annie, to Mike, Tom, Erin, Eddie, Devin's father; I fell in love with every single character.

Everything felt so real and at certain point I felt like walking along side Devin, as though I was a character in Joyland, I could see the Carolina Spin and dance with Howie and listen to the screams that were coming from The Horror House.

This book was exceptional, the characters were so real and relatable. the writing style was so amazing and catchy, I just couldn't put this book down whenever I started reading it, I just wanted to know what will happen and how it will end.

Joyland was full of nostalgic and sweet and funny moments that made the read even more agreeable. I found myself smiling and laughing and getting teary eyes at several occasions. It was not predictable for me and I didn't suspect that the killer would be that person it was a shock.

This book is perfect, it will forever be one of my favorite books ever, up to this point I can't believe that the story is over, I just want to read more about Devin's life. I think I would have enjoyed this book more (if that's even possible) if I have read it in English and not in French.

My review is all over the place but that's exactly how my feelings and emotions are. Tell me in the comments below if you have read Joyland and if so tell me what do you think of it?

Misunderstandings, circumstances and sheer bad luck have kept them apart, but when presented with the ultimate opportunity, will they gamble everything for true love?

Rating: ★★★★☆

Review:
Where Rainbows End (also known as Love, Rosie) is that perfect novel that makes you stay up all night to finish reading it. This book is about true love and most importantly about friendship. It is a cute and heart-warming story.

The thing that makes this book unique is the writing style. It is not narrated like most novels, it is written in the form of letters, emails, postcards and instant messages which made the whole book way more fun and quirky and although it sounds weird, I found myself liking it.
Cecelia Ahern succeeded in creating relatable and believable characters. I found each character to be lovable and engaging in his own way which made me quite attached to each one of them.
What I didn't like was that this book was long and very frustrating at times. I hated how Rosie and Alex made the same mistakes several times and how they were afraid to reveal their feelings to each other. Somewhere in the middle I found myself losing interest and had a hard time reading it but I have to admit that that period didn't last long and I found myself hooked again in a short time. Not to mention that the ending was more than satisfying.

In all this was a fun read. It was hard not to laugh or cry. I must admit that this was an entertaining book that I enjoyed reading and wouldn't mind reading again.

Ps: The movie adaptation is amazing!

Divergent by Veronica Roth Review

First of all I am very very late to read this book, a lot of people have read it, loved it, everyone was talking about it and two weeks ago I was like I am the only one who hasn't read this, I need to give it a try and so I did.
Even though everyone was talking about it, I kept myself away from all the hype surrounding Divergent, didn't read any reviews, didn't watch the movie trailer and so I jumped into it practically not knowing anything about it and I am so glad I did.

I have to say that I immensely enjoyed reading this book, I was reading it whenever I had the chance to, the book was always with me and even though Divergent is 500 pages long I devoured it in less than 3 days. I liked Veronica Roth's writing, I have to admit it's not the best and it's not spectacular but it made the book a very easy and quick read, also it kept the story moving in a great way.

My favorite thing about Divergent are the characters, I found them all really interesting, captivating, realistic and flawed which is the most important thing. I was attached to Tris so much, she was very brave, thoughtful, kind and very smart too but she was also selfish and maybe even cruel at times. Four is also one of my favorite characters and my new official book boyfriend, I loved his personality so much and the way he wasn't perfect, the way he dealt with his fears and when we saw his vulnerable side and also his brave and strong side. I loved how their relationship developed and I was rereading their scenes over and over.

The plot was very entertaining and exciting. I expressed many emotions throughout this book, I was sad and maybe even angry at times and I found myself smiling and giggling at others. So all in all this was a very enjoyable read.

The only problem I had with this book it that the beginning was a bit slow so the first chapters took a bit to get through, there wasn't anything particularly interesting and the pace took a couple chapters to really pick up however it didn't bother me much and so I settled with 4 and half stars as a rating.

I would recommend this to everyone looking for a quick entertaining read. I will certainly move on to read the next books and would definitely watch the movie.

My Current Daily Perfume

For the past couple months of summer, I have been using I Love Love by Moschino.

What I mostly love about it is its scent, citruses and oranges are the main notes of this scent and you could recognize a bit of peachy smell in there. Its fruity smell is so refreshing, uplifting, sweet and mostly summery. The perfume smells very bright.
It is great for daily use, I personally use it everyday.
I find the packaging and the bottle very cute.

The only problem I have with I Love Love is that it's not very lasting, you'll probably have to reply it every two hours.

Tell me in the comments below what do you think about this perfume and what are you using at the moment?
